The pirating is a whole other issue, but that happens naturally when you open up a game for modding. The only difference would be to be able to play simultaniously instead of taking turns and passing the controller/mouse around.Īnd even without hotseat mode you could play together by taking turns with just one player slot. Im aware of all these argumentations, but we already have offline hotseat mode anyway. Plutopoly is a free customizable monopoly business dice board game with local or online multiplayer support. I doubt publishers would be thrilled about that, especially with as hard as it is to get games released "officially" on the platform. You can argue online gameplay serves as advertising because the experiences are different, but offline multiplayer is a straight replacement for the physical copy, all it does it discourage people from buying the game. Like I said, online gameplay makes sense, it's offering something the physical board games can't, but also restricts you to the online experience, but if you're all together, you may as well pull out the physical game. Still seems highly anti-publisher in a program that is already kind of contraversial for how easy it is to use for pirating games. I´d even like a split screen mode, not only for local multiplayer, but to have multiple viewports in a Online game too.
